New, clean, stylish, it had everything we could want and was a great base from which to do all sorts of fun things for the family… Hurrah for North Farm, it made a great holiday and we hope to come again.

Reviews of Barn Owl and Kingfisher Cottages

Kitchen was very well equipped, even did some baking. And the cottages were toasty warm despite it being a chilly couple of weeks in December. Ideal for getaway with extended family or friends - we had family in the adjoining cottage and it worked so well.

We stayed in Barn Owl Cottage, very clean and tidy, a real home from home. We were lucky to see the barn owl and deer. Very nice secluded secure garden. Would highly recommend. 5*.

As soon as I arrived at North Farm, I knew it was going to be the perfect get-away. Far removed from busy roads, and residential areas. This place is situated amongst grassy fields and beautiful meadows. The farm grounds are utterly charming.

We had such a great time last week! It's a brilliant set up and having stayed in many rather damp, bare cottages over the years it was lovely to be in such a well-equipped and beautiful set up.

We have stayed with extended family in both cottages for the last three years and will be returning this year. North Farm Cottages are a wonderfully tranquil, beautiful place to stay. Everything is done to a high standard and the owners are immensely helpful. The cottages are very well-equipped, especially for families. We loved seeing the beautiful resident barn owl. I can't recommend it highly enough.

We call North Farm our happy place. We have been back every year for 5 years sometimes twice a year. We have stayed in both cottages and the shepherd hut over the years. It's such a relaxing environment. We have two children who feel so comfortable and safe when we stay. I don't think we have finished a weeks holiday without booking the for the following year. Everything is thought of from cutlery, plates, bowls for the children to toys for inside, outside and the bath. This year we were lucky enough to see the Barn owl, my 7 year old was thrilled and loved the nightly trips down to the field with a hot chocolate to watch for the owl. Some nights we spotted deer in the neighboring field and bats flying round our heads. We are counting down the day till we go back. If you are looking for a relaxing stress free holiday this is definitely the place for you to stay.

Fantastic, peaceful and well-equipped. We booked a last-minute holiday in the Kingfisher Cottage to be closer to a family member in hospital at the time. This was the perfect place to get away from it all.

There's plenty to see and do in the area - little villages, long beaches, lovely walks etc. Would definitely recommend!

The cottages were spotless, comfortable, had everything we needed and were rather beautiful.

We had a lovely week staying at Kingfisher Cottage- North Farm. It was perfect for two families to spend time together and know that the children were safe. Also for the grown ups to be able to sit outside in the evening to socialise whilst the children were in bed. We couldn’t find one negative to the accommodation. The cottages were so well equipped, everything had been thought of. We loved having the washing facilities so that we didn’t have piles of washing to go home with. The location was also great. We had days out around Norfolk and didn’t have to travel more than 30 minutes.

Lovely, clean eco barn. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and much appreciated welcome pack.

The peace is very restorative. The location is perfect for staying still, or exploring further afield depending on how the mood takes you. Gill and David are wonderful hosts. Attentive yet unobtrusive.

We love coming here for many reasons but the main one is how welcome we are made to feel, how everything has been thought about. We don't have to worry about whether the children will be safe or have enough to occupy them as everything is here in a secure location.

The cottage is beautiful, immaculate and very well-designed and kitted out for both long and short stays.

I don't think we've ever rented such a comfortable and well-equipped cottage before, and we’ve been to quite a few! We really enjoyed the peace, quiet and space, as well as watching the Barn Owl fly to an fro and feed its young."

Reviews of the Shepherd's Hut

This place was just stunning, it was the perfect get away for some quality peaceful relaxation time. I visited with my dog Deiric and we had a great time. The hut was perfect and very clean and tidy. The addition of the private shower area and kitchen for the hut was lovely and very clean, modern and tidy. It was lovely to just sit on an evening in your own field and listen to nature. Lots of things to do locally in the area and only 20 minutes to many lovely beaches, including dog friendly ones. The hosts were lovely, came to say hello and then let us relax. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again. August 2024

This hut is absolutely charming. We wished for a “get away from it all” break and it couldn’t have been better. We didn’t want to leave, but after some freshly cooked eggs (which we were able to purchase from our host) we said our farewells and I have an inkling that we may be back…

The hut was perfect for two. The hot shower at the end of a cycling day was also very welcome. We would thoroughly recommend North Farm to other cyclists and walkers.

A gorgeous rural escape! Exactly as described and pictured- a perfect getaway for you and your furry friend. We arrived late after work on a Friday but immediately found the hut from the clear directions and the key to get in and get settled. Really cosy, even in high winds and rain! So good to have the kitchen and shower room available- everything you could need for a few days away. We went on a lovely long dog walk past Oxnead Hall and then all along the canals. Stunning views and lots of loud, happy cows! Back past The Goat Inn on the advice of other reviewers, which has a big pub garden and is dog friendly. A lovely stay and I would highly recommend!

Amazing location and wonderful hosts. I was attending a wedding and they kindly lent me the iron bed board on the morning of the wedding. Everything was very clean and tidy.

Absolutely amazing value for money - we had a great time exploring the area and taking in the last of the summer weather from the cozy confines of the hut. The wood burner is a fab touch, and we felt at home instantly. It felt very private but being greeted at the beginning and end of our stay was a reassuring touch. Also a big fan of the new private kitchen/washroom space.

Great stay in a very rural location. My dogs and I loved it. Belted Galloway cattle were also a rare treat to see.

It's a peaceful, beautiful, relaxing and private place to stay with a feeling of safety and cosiness. The facilities that are for sole use of anyone staying in the Shepherd's Hut are fabulous.

The peacefulness and natural beauty have been most restorative.
