Kingfisher and Barn Owl Cottages

Kingfisher and Barn Owl cottages are two fabulous single-storey barn conversions, each sleeping four people. With french doors onto the enclosed gardens, comfortable beds and well-equipped kitchens, they provide a great setting for a relaxing holiday or intergenerational break. 

Inside the cottages

Each cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms and has a kitchen-diner, sitting room, bathroom and separate WC. There are wooden and tiled floors throughout with underfloor heating. French doors lead out from the kitchen and sitting-room into the secure, private gardens.

The kitchen-diner has been well equipped to make your self-catering stay as comfortable as possible including a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine, as well as a good range of cooking equipment. Plastic crockery, cutlery and high-chairs available for young children.

Each cottage has two bedrooms, one king-size/twin and one twin. A travel cot or bedguard is available on request. All linen is 100% cotton.

The bathrooms each have a basin, toilet, bath and shower and there is also a separate WC and basin. Towels are provided.

The sitting rooms are equipped with a flat-screen television and DVD player (bring your own DVDs), alongside bluetooth speakers. Each sitting room has a log burner to make them extra cosy in the colder weather.  There is also a variety of books and games for adults and children.

Both cottages have french windows leading onto the gardens from the kitchen and the sitting room, perfect for al fresco drinking and dining. 

Wi-fi is available throughout via a 4G network and now has a good speed for the rural location.

Outside the cottages

Both cottages have a fully fenced, private garden with patio, lawn and flower beds. Wooden patio furniture and BBQs are provided and outdoor toys for children under 5 are available on request. At the end of the gardens, there  is a bicycle storage shed with a freezer.

Guests are welcome to explore the surrounding 14 acres of meadow with river frontage and we can provide you with details of walks from the farm as well as further afield.

For most of the year, horses or cows graze on one of the meadows.

On your arrival, we will give you more information about the farm as well as showing you the areas that it is safe to explore with young children. 

Group Holidays

Rent both cottages together (along with the Shepherd's Hut) for an inter-generational get together or break with friends. 

The cottage gardens have an interconnecting gate outside the kitchen areas, allowing children to run between them safely. The separate properties means that others can maintain their own space, whilst eating and socialising freely together. BBQs, board games, swing-ball are all supplied. Around North Farm, you will find hidden corners and shady benches to escape to with a good book when space (or the family) allows.

Children can play safely in the enclosed gardens and there is lots to see and do around the farm including barn owls and other wildlife, pottery studio and stone carving workshop. 

Maps are provided in the cottages showing the farm boundaries and explaining where is safe to explore.

As you will see from our reviews, the cottages and gardens are set-up to make your holiday as fun and easy as possible for the kids whilst also providing a luxurious holiday for the adults too. We have outdoor toys for under 5s, some toys and books as well as high-chairs and other equipment on request.

Dogs at North Farm

We are really pleased to welcome dogs to North Farm, either to stay at Barn Owl cottage or in the Shepherds Hut. Dogs love to explore the meadow and there are lots of walks that lead directly from the farm.

We accept one dog per stay and ask our guests to read through our Dog Agreement before booking. There is an additional £100 to pay - this represents a £25 cleaning fee and a £75 damages deposit, returnable at the end of your stay.
